What is fire cider? Fire cider is an herbal health tonic and folk remedy that helps your immune system, improve digestion, and prevent a cold or flu. What many people don’t know, and mainstream medicine won’t tell you, is that it has been used for centuries to help boost the immune system.
Fire cider is made by fermenting horseradish, turmeric, garlic, oranges, ginger, herbs, and peppers in apple cider vinegar. The fermentation process creates a powerful mixture of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that are thought to have numerous health benefits. Fire cider is typically taken by the tablespoonful diluted in water or juice, or it can be added to recipes for an extra immune-boosting boost. Many people find fire cider to be a helpful tool in staying healthy during the winter months when colds and flus are more common.
Serving suggestions. Anecdotally, people usually take 1–2 tablespoons daily as an immune booster. However, people who find the tonic strong can dilute it in a glass of water. Some people may only take it if they feel a cold coming or to help warm themselves up during the winter season. You can also add to hot water and serve with honey as a tea. Also try adding spoonful to soups, or use as a salad dressing.
